Shine is one of the most established and popular wedding bands in Boston. They are a very talented group of professional musicians that have been together for a long time compared to a lot of wedding bands that seem to come and go in the New England area.
John Harris, the owner and manager, has two goals for every event.
(1) make sure the music is GREAT
(2) make sure everyone has a great time dancing
Based on the rave reviews for this wedding band that I’ve seen at Wedding Wire, and across the Internet, he’s nailing it every time.
It was time for a website upgrade – a new, fresh look and one that more effectively communicated the professionalism and experience of the band.
It was also time to take advantage of some social media, including Facebook, YouTube, and blogging with WordPress.
Having worked with John in the past to get his website top ranked at Google, he asked me for some ideas and what I could do for them.
Give the website a new, fresh look.
Make it look BETTER than the other wedding bands in Boston who are online.
Create a “hook” that makes the band stand out from the competition and leaves a powerful first impression.
Optimize the design as well as the marketing copy to get better conversion and more inquiries.
Keep – and in some cases improve – the top rankings at Google.
Create a series of video slide-shows for use at YouTube.
Optimize the videos at YouTube for search visibility.
Launch a WordPress blog.
Set-up Facebook and provide Facebook training.
Develop a WordPress blogging and Facebook posting strategy.
Review and optimize Google Adwords (pay-per-click).
Discuss/recommend offline marketing strategies to compliment the new site.
Review Google Analytics and online advertising in place, renew what works, cancel what is not.
Without a doubt, this was one of the most challenging projects I’ve worked on – largely because the new site had to be launched without losing any of the top Google rankings John has paid me to get for the site over the past 12-24 months (SEO).
That said, I’d also say is is one of the my most successful projects.
Crank up the volume:
- Increase overall online visibility for the band
- Keep building traffic using social media and aggressive blogging
- Maintain Google rankings
- Keep focused on generating inquiries and sales through the website
